Most Alabamians have fond memories of trips to the beautiful Gulf beaches but like the shoreline itself, the landscape and the lifestyle are always changing.

Jacksonville State University professor Dr. Harvey Jackson has recently written a book, "The Rise and Decline of the Redneck Riviera" in which he recounts his childhood trips and how Gulf Shores has changed over the years.

This week Fred Hunter takes us for a trip to the beaches of by-gone days. We're heading to the Redneck Riviera and it's an Absolutely Alabama trip.
